Ultimate Guide to Oral-B Electric Toothbrushes : Which Model is Right for You?

During hygiene school multiple dental companies came to our school to let us try out their products to give us first hand experience for products we may recommend in the future. It was here that my opinion was swayed toward Oral-B. Regardless of what my opinion is I will always tell patients that electric toothbrushes boil down to personal preference which is why I love that both Sonicare and Oral B offer what is called the “Test Drive” models in a dental office. These models allow you to try out both brushes so that you can formulate your own opinion prior to spending the money. Both companies also offer a limited time money back guarantee should you purchase a particular model and it not work out for you.

When I started my blog I reached out to multiple companies to try and purchase products at a discounted price, so that I could offer reviews without spending a fortune on a ton of different products. My Oral B representative, Damani Felder, for my dental office I work at has always been over the top helpful. When I reached out and asked a for a few samples, he agreed and said he would swing by and leave some things at the front. I expected him to drop off a couple things. What arrived at my office about brought me to tears!!! Damani dropped off multiple electric toothbrushes, case of of full size toothpastes, multiple different oral b products such as floss, mouth wash, piks, etc. I was blown away. This blog is not a major blog site YET, but to have my Oral B representative believe in me enough to give me all these products to review just solidified my initial feelings of who Oral B is as a company. My favorite thing about Oral B is their app that bluetooths to most of their toothbrushes to not only track how you are brushing but also show you where you are missing.

Oral-B Genius X: This intelligent toothbrush uses advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to track your brushing technique and provide personalized feedback. It also has a built-in pressure sensor to alert you if you're brushing too hard and offers multiple cleaning modes for a thorough clean.

Oral-B 300/400: This entry level electirc toothbrush is at a price point that can be available to just about anyone. I consider this a “toe in the water” when entering the electric toothbrush world. It is about as basic as they come but great for people whose dental offices do not have the test drive system and they want to see if they will like it before spending a lot of money on it. Includes a built in timer, 1 cleaning mode and water proof handle. https://amzn.to/3T3xxdh

Oral-B Pro 1000: This entry-level electric toothbrush is a popular choice for its affordability and effectiveness. It features a rotating brush head that oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up plaque and provide a deep clean. The Pro 1000 also includes a built-in timer to ensure you brush for the recommended two minutes.

Oral-B Pro 3000: This mid-range model offers more features than the Pro 1000. It has three brushing modes (Daily Clean, Gum Care, and Sensitive) to cater to different oral care needs. The Pro 3000 also includes a pressure sensor and a timer to help you brush gently and effectively. https://amzn.to/4cc7lpJ

Oral-B iO series: This is the BIG DADDY of the the electric toothbrushes and also sitting at the highest price point, this toothbrush is where technology and innovation meet. This toothbrush not only has pressure sensors but also has real time tracking and positional sensors (series 9 and higher). The io series 4-6 has 4 modes of cleaning, series 5-7 has 5 modes and 9-10 has 7 modes .Daily Clean, Sensitive, Gum Care, Intense Clean, Whitening, Super Sensitive and Tongue Cleaner. I’m gonna be very honest about this part. I do not change the mode of my toothbrushes nor have I ever, but that doesn’t change my standpoint on how this toothbrush brushes your teeth. It is heads above the rest and is the closest thing to giving you the slick, clean feeling you have leaving the dentist office. While the mobile appis not mandatory , this toothbrush combined with the app has by far given me the best result when teaching adult patients how they are brushing and where they can improve. https://amzn.to/3V1lKyF

Oral-B Kids Electric Toothbrush: These toothbrushes are specifically designed for children. They come in various fun designs and feature smaller brush heads and soft bristles to suit a child's mouth. Some models also include interactive features like a timer or a companion app to make brushing more engaging for kids.

These are just a few examples of the diverse range of Oral-B electric toothbrushes available. Each model offers unique features to cater to different preferences and oral care needs. The best part of electric toothbrushes is that these companies stand behind their products and giving customers a zero risk guarantee of 30 days “love or it return it” for full refund. Also the heads come off and can sit on the top rack or in the utensil holder of your dishwasher for sanitizing after an illness.

MY FAVORITE Oral B electric toothbrush is the Oral B iO series 9. Hands Down I have never had a toothbrush make my teeth feel like that. I actually have an entire blog article dedicated to that toothbrush. While it is at the higher price point, it is definitely cheaper than a cavity. LOL. Whenever a patient buys a new toothbrush, I always have them bring it with them to their next appointment so we can make sure that it is not only set up correctly but that they are using it correctly. You would be shocked how many people are not correctly using products that purchase. WHile I have included an amazon link for this toothbrush ask your dental provider if they sell the bundle of the iO series. This comes with toothbrush head replacements for a year, mouth rinse, toothpaste, floss and more. In our office we sell this bundle for $200 with a mail in money rebate coupon. If your office sells these bundles it is by far the best deal.

Toothpaste, mouthrinses and more………..

DENSIFY: The newest toothpaste on the market from Oral B, in their Pro Health line. The toothpaste purpose is to rebuild the surface of the tooth each time you use the toothpaste. Keep in mind this is just a toothpaste and when it says it is rebuilding the surface we are talking about micrometers at a time. The flavor is bland and I am more of a fan of its counterpart Gum Detoxify, but Densify is SLS free, while Gum Detoxify is not. Link for Densify https://amzn.to/48BSRfF… I have LOTS of FREE FULL SIZE SAMPLES thanks to Damani, send me a message to request one before they are all gone.

SUPERFLOSS: I LOVE this floss, especially for bridges, getting between larger open contacts and food getting caught in between gaps. Super floss has a fluffy piece in the middle of the tranditional floss, this piece expands when moisturixed by your saliva allowing it to fill in the gaps. It also has a stiff end which makes it easy to get into tight spaces and in between the contact portion of the bridge.

INTERDENTAL PICKS: These brushes have a rubber tip brush head and are a great replacement for toothpicks which can do real damage to gum tissue. These are especially helpful to those patients who have periodontal disease since they tend to have larger spaces in between teeth due to bone loss. https://amzn.to/3InHHk1

CREST PRO HEALTH MOUTH RINSE: Great minty flavor this mouth rinse differentiates from the rest as it kills off 99% off the germs in plaque that can cause gingivitis. Mouth rinses are great in conjunction with brushing and flossing but are not necessary. They can provide and added benefit to aid in bad breath. The only downside to the Pro Health line si that they contain stannous fluoride which over time can cause staining. The newer line of Pro Health has a new formulated products that are suppose to reduce that probability.

Oral B has many great products and I have no doubt you will find one that can help you. If you have any questions about a product or want a sample, I have lots available!!! First come first serve.
